Quick and short post right here. Every once a month my friends and I hold a wine tasting on the online platform Discord. I assume most people should be aware of what Discord is, but in short it is a platform made for gamers, on which you can join and create servers for you and other people, with a variety of text chats and voice channels on each of those. You can text eachother, you can talk to each other. There are quite a few things you can do besides gaming related stuff, one of them being wine tastings. We do this once a month, we randomly choose a theme and then everyone of us buys themselves a bottle of wine for that theme, we taste them and we rate them. And on the last tasting we choose the theme ‚Bordeaux‘, a rather broad term because the region of Bordeaux is about as massive as all of germanys winemaking area. So obviously there is a wide selection, but I doubt that it wouldn’t be educational anyways.

On my train of thought I came to the conclusion that I would like to have a bottle of red wine, which is the product most associated with the region, and either a dry white wine or a Sauternes. Upon coming across the bottle pictured above my decision was pretty clear. 100 ML is this bad boy big. It’s a great wine from a great vintage. 2009 was one of the best vintages in the 2000s, if not the best, all across Bordeaux. La Tour Blanche is often depicted to be the best value producer in Sauternes and a good wine in almost every vintage. I doubt that this wine is bad, it’s just a very weird bottle. I pulled this from Lobenbergs Gute Weine, a very big german online shop, and they portrayed this one to be the perfect size for one glass, without worrying about the whole bottle. Nice. I’ll report back on this wine no matter the quality, but my hopes are up, especially when you consider that the price per Liter is about 170€ for this thing. It better be good.
